    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 96

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 7, line 13, strike “may” and insert in lieu thereof “shall be entitled to”.

    2. On page 7, line 18, after “membership.”, insert the following: “The secretary of the commission shall have authority to administer oaths to persons appearing as witnesses before the commission.”.

    3. On page 7, line 20, after “business.”, insert the following: “The commission shall keep a record of all proceedings of the commission.”

    4. On page 7, line 22, after “quarterly.”, insert the following: “Meetings of the commission shall be held in Santa Fe and at other sites within the state at the direction of the commission.”

    5. On page 7, between lines 24 and 25, insert a new subsection to read:

         “E. No member of the commission shall be appointed secretary or be employed by the department on either a full- or part-time basis.”

    6. On page 25, line 6, strike “or the secretary”.
