    Your TAXATION AND REVENUE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 178

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, strike all of lines 14 through 16 and strike line 17 through the period and insert in lieu thereof:

"shall dedicate the revenue to recreational programs and activities provided by a local government and to cultural programs, events and activities provided by contract with nonprofit or publicly owned cultural organizations and institutions.".

     2. On page 3, line 2, strike "organizations" and insert in lieu thereof "the cultural and recreational programs, events".

     3. On page 3, line 3, after "and" strike the remainder of the line and insert in lieu thereof "that at".

     4. On page 3, line 6, strike "Albuquerque and Bernalillo" and insert in lieu thereof "the county and the largest municipality located within the".

     5. On page 4, line 11, strike "organizations" and insert in lieu thereof "activities".

     6. On page 4, line 20, strike the word "do" and strike line 21 through the period and insert in lieu thereof:

"shall not be removed during their terms except for malfeasance.".

     7. On page 5, line 11, after "tax" insert "through contracts for services with appropriate organizations and institutions".

     8. On page 5, line 14, after "funding" strike "and" and insert in lieu thereof "through a request for proposals process,".

     9. On page 5, line 16, before the period insert "and the criteria by which contracts will be awarded".

     10. On page 6, line 4, after "follows" insert ", subject to the recommendations of the cultural advisory board pursuant to Subsection G of this section".

     11. On page 6, line 7, after "institutions" insert "or to private nonprofit organizations or institutions operating in municipally owned spaces that provide such programs and activities".

     12. On page 6, line 15, strike "to" and insert in lieu thereof "may be distributed through contracts for services with".

     13. On page 6, line 17, strike "to" and insert in lieu thereof "may be distributed through contracts for services with".
