    Your VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 501

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 12, strike "2004" and insert in lieu thereof "2005".

    2. On page 5, line 9, strike "clerk" and insert in lieu thereof "clerks of class A counties and class B counties with a population of over eighty-nine thousand according to the last federal decennial census".

     3. On page 5, line 11, after the period insert "The county clerk of any other county may begin delivery of absentee ballots to the absent voter precinct board anytime between the Thursday before the election and the day of the election.".
