AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE MID RIO GRANDE VALLEY CHARACTER COUNTS PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 for the mid Rio Grande valley character counts program in the Moriarty, Grants, Belen, Los Lunas, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Bernalillo and Santa Fe school districts and in Torrance, Cibola, Valencia, Bernalillo, Sandoval and Santa Fe counties. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
