A MEMORIAL

HONORING CANDRA ALLISON OF LAS CRUCES AS MISS RODEO NEW MEXICO FOR 2004.

 

     WHEREAS, Candra Allison was crowned miss rodeo New Mexico on January 10, 2004 in her hometown of Las Cruces; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Allison won this title through competing in horsemanship, speech, modeling, written tests, impromptu questions and several personal interviews; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Allison will represent the state of New Mexico for one year, appearing in professional rodeo cowboy association rodeos throughout New Mexico and the United States; and

     WHEREAS, Candra Allison aged twenty-two, is president of alpha zeta agricultural honors fraternity and will receive her bachelor's degree this spring with a major in agricultural economics and agriculture business with a minor in marketing; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Allison represents the college of agriculture and home economics as a college ambassador; and

     WHEREAS, Candra Allison was a ten-year member of the Dona Ana county 4-H, working on projects involving horses, swine, sheep, rabbits, poultry, goats, dairy processes, public speaking, arts and crafts and shooting and has been a district officer of the Las Cruces future farmers of america chapter; and

     WHEREAS, Miss Allison has been competing in rodeo pageants since 1996 and has been queen of the Las Cruces horseman's association and the southern New Mexico state fair rodeo for two years; and

     WHEREAS, as miss rodeo New Mexico, Candra Allison will proudly represent New Mexico in the miss rodeo America competition in Las Vegas, Nevada, in December 2004;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Miss Candra Allison be congratulated and honored for her many achievements and given best wishes for her year of representing New Mexico and competing for the miss rodeo America crown in December; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be presented to Miss Candra Allison, miss rodeo New Mexico for 2004.
