AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF GAME AND FISH FOR A COOPERATIVE MOSQUITO ABATEMENT PROGRAM WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred eighty thousand dollars ($180,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of game and fish for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to enter into a joint powers agreement with the department of environment in its field operations divisions 1, 3 and 4 to enhance the research, collection, propagation and distribution of appropriate species of indigenous mosquito-eating fish in an abatement and control program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
