AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MATCH FEDERAL FUNDS TO PROVIDE SERVICES TO ELDERLY SEEKING TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOMES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred sixty-seven thousand dollars ($167,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for a federal demonstration project known as "naturally occurring retirement communities" and to contract with a collaboration of community service providers to provide a coordinated array of services to elderly persons seeking to remain in their own homes through this demonstration project. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
