AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RESTORE ACCESS TO CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten million dollars ($10,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to fund child care assistance for eligible families up to two hundred percent of the federal poverty level. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
