AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE DIVISION OF THE TAXATION AND REVENUE DEPARTMENT TO IMPROVE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four million dollars ($4,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the motor vehicle division of the taxation and revenue department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to improve customer service, including expansion of staff and increasing salaries of staff. At least eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) of this appropriation shall be allocated for municipal agents. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
