    Your GOVERNMENT AND URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 585

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 11, after "TRANSFERRING" insert "CERTAIN".

     2. On page 1, line 16, before "The" insert the subsection designation "A.".

     3. On page 1, line 16, after "state" insert "and managed and operated by the state armory board".

     4. On page 1, line 20, after "transferred" insert "from the state armory board".

     5. On page 1, between lines 20 and 21, insert the following new subsection:

          "B. The real property transferred pursuant to this section is designated and shall remain in perpetuity as the "Bataan memorial complex" in historical remembrance and recognition of the New Mexico national guard armory site located on that property. In addition, that portion of the real property transferred pursuant to this section that houses the Bataan memorial museum on the effective date of this section shall remain in perpetuity as the Bataan memorial museum in remembrance of the honor, sacrifice and military service of the New Mexico national guard during World War II.".

and thence referred to the VOTERS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE.
