AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE CREATION OF A NEW MEXICO NATIVE FUNGI RESOURCE BANK AND PROGRAM WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY AND HORTICULTURE AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to create a New Mexico native fungi resource bank and program within the department of agronomy and horticulture, including a state microbiologist and support staff, research at the Mora research station and an advisory task force. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall not revert to the general fund.
