AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPROVE WATER CONSERVATION, EFFICIENCY AND MANAGEMENT IN THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE CONSERVANCY DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to improve water conservation, efficiency and management of the middle Rio Grande conservancy district. The appropriation will match federal funding for the same purposes. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
