AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR MITIGATION OF EXOTIC PESTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred ninety thousand dollars ($190,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 for staffing and related expenses to enhance programs directed at the mitigation of exotic pests specific to New Mexico specialty crops in order to protect the economic viability of production and processing of the associated industries. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
