AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR AFTER-SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOW-INCOME, AT-RISK STUDENTS IN SANTA FE SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide after-school programs in the Santa Fe public schools for low-income students who are at risk of academic and social failure. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
