AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE AGING AND LONG-TERM SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE WHEELCHAIR AND MOBILITY ACCESSIBILITY MODIFICATIONS TO THE HOMES OF ELDERLY OR DISABLED NATIVE AMERICANS IN MCKINLEY, CIBOLA AND SAN JUAN COUNTIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide wheelchair and mobility-related accessibility modifications to the interiors and exteriors of homes of elderly or disabled Native Americans in McKinley, Cibola and San Juan counties using a local supervising entity with experience in providing mobility home modification services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
