AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE A SALARY INCREASE FOR ADULT PROBATION AND PAROLE OFFICERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million twenty-eight thousand dollars ($2,028,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide a salary increase of two dollars ninety-three cents ($2.93) per hour for adult probation and parole officers, including all non-exempt employees. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
