AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO OPERATE COMMUTER BUS SERVICE BETWEEN SOCORRO AND THE NEW MEXICO RAIL RUNNER EXPRESS TRAIN STATION IN BELEN.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of transportation for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the transit and rail division to operate commuter bus service between Socorro and the New Mexico rail runner express station in Belen. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
