AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AMERICAN INDIAN LAW AND POLICY TRAINING AND TRIBAL LEGAL SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to contract with an organization with over thirty years of Indian law and policy experience to assist tribes to promote Indian law and policy development and training and tribal court systems development. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
