AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FEASIBILITY STUDY REGARDING THE DESIGNATION OF THE SHIP ROCK PINNACLE AS A STATE MONUMENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the energy, minerals and natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal years 2008 and 2009 for the state parks division to conduct a feasibility study regarding the designation of the Ship Rock pinnacle as a state monument. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
