AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN ADDITIONAL AVERAGE TWO PERCENT SALARY INCREASE FOR EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million three hundred nine thousand eight hundred dollars ($2,309,800) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to pay the cost of an additional average two percent salary increase for educational assistants. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
