AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PROGRAMS, RESOURCES AND ACTIVITIES AT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AND EXHIBIT HALL AT THE NEW MEXICO STATE FAIR.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state fair commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 for the African American performing arts center and exhibit hall to provide programs and resources to improve the mathematics, science and literacy skills of elementary, middle and high school students, including after-school, weekend and summer activities and web-based resources that provide individualized opportunities to develop skills. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
