AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROMOTE TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES USING SUBATOMIC PARTICLE BEAMS TO TREAT CANCER.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to promote scientific research and technological advances in the treatment of certain cancers using subatomic particle beams. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
