FOR THE LAND GRANT COMMITTEE

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO ESTABLISH A LAND GRANT STUDIES PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to develop a land grant studies program at the university of New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
