AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR YOUTH EDUCATION IN THE VISUAL ARTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the cultural affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to implement and operate a program for youth education in the visual arts, including arts integration curriculum projects that help develop core learning skills, outreach workshops at schools, pueblos and community service organizations, professional development for teachers, ongoing weekend family programs and a nationally recognized art and leadership program for boys and girls. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
