AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND A STUDY EVALUATING THE COST-BENEFITS OF REQUIRING PRESCHOOL DENTAL EXAMINATIONS FOR CHILDREN.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to conduct a study in conjunction with the public education department to evaluate the costs and benefits of requiring dental examinations for all children prior to entering school or preschool. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
