Mr. Speaker:

 

    Your CONSUMER AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 428

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

     1. On page 1, line 21, strike "sex" and insert in lieu thereof "gender".

 

     2. On page 3, line 18, strike "and".

 

     3. On page 3, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following new subsection:

 

          "C. provide orientation and training designed to eliminate profiling, including the law enforcement agency's policies and procedures designed to eliminate profiling, to its law enforcement officers; and".

 

     4. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.

 

     5. On page 4, line 19, strike the comma.

 

     6. On page 4, line 20, strike "investigating and responding to" and insert in lieu thereof "and maintaining a record of".

 

     7. On page 4, line 21, after the period insert:

 

     "The attorney general may initiate an investigation of a complaint alleging profiling and take necessary action as the attorney general deems appropriate.".,

 

 

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
