FOR THE COURTS, CORRECTIONS AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS TO REPLACE FEDERAL AND OTHER FUNDS FOR MENTAL HEALTH COURTS AND TO EXPAND MENTAL HEALTH COURTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

          A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the courts for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the following purposes:

                (1) two hundred fifty-eight thousand eight hundred dollars ($258,800) to replace federal and other funds for mental health courts in the first and thirteenth judicial districts; and

                (2) two hundred seventy-three thousand four hundred dollars ($273,400) to expand mental health courts in the eleventh and thirteenth judicial districts.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
