AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE STATE ENGINEER TO ASSIST IN SECURING STOCK WATER RIGHTS ON CERTAIN FEDERAL LANDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in fiscal years 2012 and 2013 for use in its Deming office to support identification and quantification of stock water rights on federal lands within the Gila and San Francisco river basins. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
