     WHEREAS, there is disagreement about the boundaries between the real property of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario San Fernando y Santiago land grant-merced and the real property of the United States forest service; and

     WHEREAS, both the Nuestra Señora del Rosario San Fernando y Santiago land grant-merced and the United States forest service have expressed a willingness to work together to find the correct boundaries; and

     WHEREAS, the United States forest service and the land grant council have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an understanding for cooperation and coordination between the parties to share information, work on projects of mutual interest and establish protocols for requests from, and to, the land grant communities in New Mexico; and

     WHEREAS, a survey would provide a more accurate assessment of the correct boundaries between the real property of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario San Fernando y Santiago land grant-merced and the real property of the United States forest service;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that a survey of boundaries between the real property of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario San Fernando y Santiago land grant-merced and the real property of the United States forest service be done and that, according to the results of that survey, any real property that should rightfully be part of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario San Fernando y Santiago land grant-merced be returned; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the governor, the land grant council, the United States forest service and the appropriate legislative committee.
