A MEMORIAL

DECLARING FEBRUARY 9, 2012 "FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA DAY" IN THE SENATE.

     WHEREAS, future farmers of America is a statewide co-curricular student organization; and

     WHEREAS, there are more than four thousand student future farmers of America members in grades seven through twelve, from seventy-nine secondary schools across the state; and

     WHEREAS, future farmers of America makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through enrollment in agricultural education programs; and

     WHEREAS, agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 9, 2012 be declared "Future Farmers of America Day" in the senate.
