AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY TO MANAGE AND CONDUCT STATEWIDE ROBOT WORKSHOPS AND A SUBSEQUENT INTERNATIONAL ROBOT COMPETITION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 to manage and conduct statewide workshops for students in grades three through twelve, together with their teachers, to learn to design, build, program and test payload-delivering, firefighting or other autonomous robots, culminating in an international robot competition. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
