AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO FUND NEW MEXICO MORTGAGE FINANCE AUTHORITY PROGRAMS TO ASSIST HOMELESS PERSONS IN SUPPORTIVE HOUSING ASSISTANCE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 to fund New Mexico mortgage finance authority programs to assist homeless persons with permanent and transitional supportive housing assistance. This assistance may include provision of supportive housing, case management services, life skills training, counseling and other services related to helping homeless persons become stable and move into housing. No more than five percent of this appropriation shall be used by the New Mexico mortgage finance authority for administrative expenses. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
