AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR THE BOLL WEEVIL PROGRAM IN DONA ANA, LUNA AND SIERRA COUNTIES TO CONTINUE MONITORING THE BOLL WEEVIL AND PINK BOLLWORM SITUATION IN THE THREE-COUNTY AREA.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to contract with the cotton boll weevil and pink bollworm control committees for the Dona Ana, Luna and Sierra county control district to continue to monitor the boll weevil and pink bollworm situation in the area. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
