A MEMORIAL

RECOGNIZING THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION COALITION OF NEW MEXICO'S EFFORTS TO RAISE DONATIONS THROUGH THE GIVE GRANDE NEW MEXICO EVENT.

     WHEREAS, community foundations improve the quality of life in New Mexico by supporting healthy and vital communities; and

     WHEREAS, in celebration of the one-hundredth anniversary of community foundations, the community foundation coalition of New Mexico will be taking part in a national day of community giving; and

     WHEREAS, give grande New Mexico is a project of the Albuquerque community foundation, the community foundation of southern New Mexico, the New Mexico community foundation, the Santa Fe community foundation and the Taos community foundation; and

     WHEREAS, May 6, 2014 has been designated as the day for communities across the country to host events to support local causes and organizations; and

     WHEREAS, each local gift will be increased with dollars from a national incentive pool of funds, and New Mexico will also have its own additional incentive prizes;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the community foundation coalition of New Mexico be recognized for the important donations and programs it provides; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that residents be encouraged to support give grande New Mexico on May 6, 2014; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the community foundation coalition of New Mexico.
