AN ACT

RELATING TO HUNTING; ENACTING A NEW SECTION OF CHAPTER 17, ARTICLE 3 NMSA 1978 TO RESTRICT HUNTING DRAWS, EXCEPT FOR BOW HUNTING, TO NON-FELONS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. A new section of Chapter 17, Article 3 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] HUNTING DRAWS--NON-FELONS.--No right to hunt pursuant to a draw may be issued for a hunt code, except for a bow hunt, to a person having been convicted of a felony as defined in Section 30-7-16 NMSA 1978."
