AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE OFFICE OF THE STATE AUDITOR TO INVESTIGATE COMPLIANCE WITH SEXUAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of the state auditor for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 to investigate public schools for compliance with statutory requirements and rules regarding sexual education in public schools. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
