Mr. Speaker:

 

    Your LABOR, VETERANS' AND MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 297

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

1.   On page 2, between lines 19 and 20, insert the following new subsection:

     "E. "New Mexico clean energy workforce development study" means the study titled the "New Mexico Clean Energy Workforce Development Study" that was commissioned by the workforce solutions department and published in June 2020;".

2.   Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.

3.   On page 3, line 7, strike "commissioned by the work force solutions department".

4.   On page 4, line 9, after "representative", strike the remainder of the line, strike all of line 10 and insert in lieu thereof:

"each of:

          (a) the Northern agency of the Navajo Nation;

          (b) the Eastern agency of the Navajo Nation;

          (c) the Jicarilla Apache Nation;

          (d) the Mescalero Apache Tribe;

          (e) the Fort Sill Apache Tribe;

          (f) the northern Indian pueblos;

     (g) the southern Indian pueblos; and

     (h) a non-tribal government, Native American- owned business;".

5.   On page 4, line 18, after "industry", insert "and business" and on line 19, after "achieving", insert ", or that may be affected by,".

6.   On page 4, line 23, strike ", appointed by the co-chairs ofthe council," and on line 24, after "topic", insert ", appointed by the co-chairs of the council".

7.   On page 5, lines 3 and 4, strike "commissioned by the workforce solutions department".

8.   On page 6, line 14, after the semicolon, insert "and".

9.   On page 7, line 4, strike "; and" and insert in lieu thereof a period.

10.  On page 7, line 5, strike the paragraph designation "(7)" and insert in lieu thereof:

     "F. The council shall".

11.  Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.

12.  On page 7, line 11, strike "on" and insert in lieu thereof "by".,
