AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION FOR THE LAND GRANT COUNCIL TO HIRE A NEW MEXICO-LICENSED PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR AND AN ATTORNEY WHO SPECIALIZES IN PROPERTY LAW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2022 through 2026 for the land grant council to hire one New Mexico-licensed professional surveyor and one attorney who specializes in property law to assist land grants in defining and defending their common lands statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2026 shall revert to the general fund.
