AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT TO CONTRACT WITH AN ORGANIZATION TO CONDUCT A WATERSHED STUDY STATEWIDE TO REVIEW WATER INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS IN AGRICULTURAL AREAS AND UNDERDEVELOPED AREAS THAT LACK WATER DIVERSION FROM THE MAJOR RIVERS IN THE STATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 to contract with an organization to conduct a watershed study statewide to review water infrastructure projects in agricultural areas and undeveloped areas that lack water diversion from the major rivers in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2022 shall revert to the general fund.
