AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO ALLOW THE CHICANA AND CHICANO STUDIES DEPARTMENT TO BUILD A HIGHER EDUCATION PIPELINE THROUGH COMMUNITY-ENGAGED CURRICULUM AND HIGH SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE PUBLIC-FACING PROGRAMMING.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 to allow the Chicana and Chicano studies department to build a higher education pipeline through community-engaged curriculum and high school and community college public-facing programming. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2022 shall revert to the general fund.
