    Your HEALTH AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 282

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 4, line 25, strike "290dd-d" and insert in lieu thereof "290dd-2".

    2. On page 5, line 1, strike the closing quotation mark and between lines 1 and 2, insert the following new subsection:

         "H. For the purposes of this section, "health care operation activities" includes administrative, financial, legal and quality improvement activities of a covered entity that are necessary to conduct business and to support the core functions of treatment and payment and are limited to the activities listed in the definition of "health care operations" at 45 CFR 164.501."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
