AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE STATE REDISTRICTING COMMISSION TO CARRY OUT ITS WORK PURSUANT TO AND CONTINGENT UPON THE REDISTRICTING ACT BECOMING LAW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Contingent upon Senate Bill 199 of the first session of the fifty-fifth legislature or House Bill 211 of the first session of the fifty-fifth legislature becoming law, three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state redistricting commission for expenditure in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 for the state redistricting commission to carry out its work pursuant to the Redistricting Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the general fund.
