AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE APPROPRIATION CONTINGENCY FUND, FROM CERTAIN FEDERAL FUNDS ALLOCATED TO THE STATE, TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO PROVIDE NURSING STAFF TO A LICENSED HOSPITAL IN SAN JUAN COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty million dollars ($20,000,000) is appropriated from the appropriation contingency fund, from funds allocated to the state pursuant to the federal American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 and transferred to the appropriation contingency fund during the second special session of the fifty-fifth legislature, to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 to contract for services to provide nursing staff to assist in treating patients infected by the coronavirus disease 2019 for a hospital in San Juan county licensed by the department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the appropriation contingency fund.
