Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 29
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 2, line 22, strike "2027" and insert in lieu thereof "2028".
2. On page 7, line 1, strike "and".
3. On page 7, line 8, strike the period and closing quotation mark and insert in lieu thereof a semicolon and between lines 8 and 9, insert:
"(11) adopt grade-specific mathematics assessments that can be administered with minimal impact on instructional time; and
(12) provide for timely reporting of assessment results that can be integrated with instructional support for teachers and students."".
4. On page 9, line 9, after "assessment", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 10 through "year".
5. On page 9, line 14, after "difficulty", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 15 through "mathematics".
6. On page 9, line 17, strike "calendar".
7. On page 9, line 18, after "results", strike the remainder of the line and strike line 19 through "assessment".
8. On page 9, line 25, after the paragraph designation "(3)", strike the remainder of the line and on page 10, strike line 1 up to the semicolon and insert in lieu thereof "an assurance that the parent will receive monthly written reports on the student's progress".
and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
