Your FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 143
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 19, after the period, strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 20 and 21 and strike line 22 through the period and insert in lieu thereof:
"The fee on eggs being sold to the retailer or consumer shall be one-half cent ($.005) per dozen; provided that the board may index the amount of the fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index for all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
2. On page 2, line 20, strike "fees" and insert in lieu thereof "fee".
3. On page 2, line 21, strike "are" and insert in lieu thereof "is".
4. On page 2, lines 22 and 23, remove the brackets and the lines through the dollar amounts and strike the underscored dollar amounts.
5. On page 2, line 24, remove the brackets and the line through the dollar amount and strike the underscored dollar amount and the period and insert in lieu thereof a semicolon and between lines 24 and 25, insert:
"provided that the board may index the amount of a fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index for all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
6. On page 3, lines 17, 21, 23 and 25, remove the brackets and the lines through the dollar amounts and strike the underscored dollar amounts.
7. On page 4, lines 2, 4, 6 and 9, remove the brackets and the lines through the dollar amounts and strike the underscored dollar amounts.
8. On page 4, line 15, remove the brackets and the line through the dollar amount and strike the underscored dollar amount and the period and insert in lieu thereof a semicolon and between lines 15 and 16, insert:
"provided that the board may index the amount of a fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index for all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
9. On page 5, line 11, strike "but shall not exceed" and insert in lieu thereof "in".
10. On page 5, line 12, strike the comma and the underscored language.
11. On page 5, lines 14 and 15, remove the brackets and line-through and strike the underscored language.
12. On page 5, lines 18 and 19, remove the brackets and line-through and strike the underscored language.
13. On page 5, lines 21 and 22, remove the brackets and line-through and strike the underscored language.
14. On page 5, lines 24 and 25, remove the brackets and line-through and strike the underscored language.
15. On page 6, line 2, remove the brackets and line-through and strike the underscored language.
16. On page 6, line 12, after the subsection designation "C.", insert:
"The board may index the amount of a fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index, all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
17. On page 6, line 25, after the closing bracket, insert:
"The board may index the amount of the fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index, all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
18. On page 7, line 18, strike "not to exceed", on lines 18 through 20, remove the brackets and line-through and on line 20, strike "ninety cents ($.90) a ton".
19. On page 7, line 24, strike "not to exceed" and insert in lieu thereof "of".
20. On page 8, line 1, after the period, insert:
"The board may index the amount of a fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index, all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
21. On page 9, line 20, strike "not exceed".
22. On page 9, lines 20 and 21, strike "forty-five cents ($.45)" and insert in lieu thereof "be twenty-five cents ($.25)".
23. On page 9, line 24, strike "not to exceed" and insert in lieu thereof "of".
24. On page 10, line 2, after the subsection designation "B.", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 3 and 4 and insert in lieu thereof:
"The board may index the amount of a fee for inflation until July 1, 2031 using the consumer price index, all urban consumers: all items published by the United States department of labor.".
