Keyword Search

Default word / phrase search will instruct the search engine to locate documents that contain the entered term.
  • state tax will find “state taxation”, “income state tax” but not “state sales tax”
Exact word / phrase search is done by placing double-quotes around the search term.
  • “education funding" will find all documents with that term but not with “educational funding”
Boolean AND, OR, NOT operators may be used in search terms. They MUST be in uppercase letters.
  • youth AND programs, medical OR medicinal, fish NOT wildlife, state AND tax
Wildcard * searching uses the asterisk to denote wildcard searching of the term. The asterisk is only supported at the end of a word or phrase.
  • law* will find “lawful”, “lawfully” but not “bylaw”.
