AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS FOR IMPROVING WATER QUALITY AND QUANTITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred five thousand dollars ($205,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 for the purpose of the New Mexico department of agriculture distributing funds to the forty-seven soil and water conservation districts statewide to facilitate and improve water quality and quantity management practices. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
