MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN'S COURT DIVISION OF THE SECOND JUDICIAL DISTRICT FOR A HALF-TIME SPECIAL MASTER WHO WILL CONDUCT DETENTION HEARINGS DURING EVENINGS AND ON WEEKENDS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children's court division of the second judicial district for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to pay salaries and benefits for a half-time special master who will conduct detention hearings during evenings and on weekends. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
