MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STUDENT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 by the border health office for the purpose of contracting for an environmental learning program involving middle and high school students in community service projects focused on water quality along the Rio Grande watershed. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
