AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES FOR WOMEN RELEASED FROM INCARCERATION AND SUPERVISED THROUGH THE ADULT PROBATION AND PAROLE DIVISION OF THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO LIVE MORE INDEPENDENTLY AND WITH SELF-SUFFICIENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department community corrections program for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to provide funding for community-based services for women released from incarceration and supervised through the adult probation and parole division of the corrections department. The purpose of the program is to assist women released from incarceration to live more independently and to obtain more self-sufficiency. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
